Armistead
Peeler painted with his wife Parlee for some 35 years until
her death in 2004. Known as a colorful character around his
hometown of Grand Junction, TN, Peeler drove a truck with his
paintings hanging on it. A curious intermingling of the figural
and the abstract sets Peeler's work apart from many other folk
artists of his generation. He died in 2005.
